The trade name of Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) known as Natrosol which thickening agent prepared by etherification of alkaline cellulose and ethylene oxide or chloromethane.  It is extensively in the oil & gas industry as a drilling mud additive under the name HEC. It is color is white or yellowish. Among other properties, it is odorless, non-toxic, fibrous, or powdered belongs to non-ionic soluble.
